McGuireWoods Authors Discuss State of U.S. Data Privacy Legislation in CCBJ

January 5, 2021

The November-December 2020 issue of Corporate Counsel Business Journal published an article by McGuireWoods discovery counsel Cristin Traylor and associate Alice O’Donovan discussing the outlook for national privacy legislation in the United States.

In the article, the authors considered how federal data privacy legislation introduced in September 2020 — the SAFE DATA Act — would establish a nationwide standard that could work in conjunction with the GDPR and other global privacy laws to help the U.S. remain competitive in the global marketplace.

The authors first published the article on the firm’s Password Protected blog, a resource dedicated to tracking key data privacy and security news and trends.
