April 8, 2026

McGuireWoods associate Hayoung Chung was profiled by the Secured Finance Network in its annual Women in Secured Finance issue, which was published in the March 2026 edition of The Secured Lender. The feature recognizes women who are “redefining leadership through strategic insight and an unrelenting commitment to excellence.”

Chung concentrates her practice on bankruptcy, restructuring and workout matters, with a focus on secured transactions, debtor-in-possession financing, cash collateral matters and creditors’ rights and remedies. Based in New York, she represents leading financial institutions and national banks as administrative agents in syndicated facilities across industries, including healthcare, real estate, food and beverage, agriculture and technology.

In the profile, Chung shared insights on career development, mentorship and resilience, emphasizing the importance of building and maintaining networks.

“What you work on and who you work with will likely change over the years, but every experience is an opportunity for you to add something to your professional toolkit,” she said. “Paying attention to how others handle difficult situations is especially valuable.”

Reflecting on the role of mentorship in her success, Chung added: “I’ve been fortunate to have great mentors who walked me through various stages of my career, from a law student to a judicial clerk and to an associate at a big law firm. I would not be where I am without them. They recognized my talents and strengths long before I did, encouraged me to pursue a career as a restructuring attorney and connected me to others in the industry.”
