McGuireWoods Recognized as a 2014 Best Law Firm for Women

August 5, 2014

McGuireWoods LLP has been selected as one of the 2014 “50 Best Law Firms for Women” by Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers. This is the sixth time the firm has been named in the survey, now in its seventh year.

The award recognizes law firms with family-friendly policies and business development initiatives that retain and advance women into leadership positions. The results are based on multiple criteria, including policies regarding maternity leave, compensation, reduced-hour and flex-time policies, leadership, and development and advancement of women.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women,” said Joy Fuhr, national chairwoman of the firm’s Women Lawyers Network. “Achieving this recognition for the sixth time is a testament to McGuireWoods’ steadfast commitment to the advancement and retention of its women lawyers. We are completely honored.”

The full list of law firms appears in the August/September issue of Working Mother magazine, published today, and on workingmother.com and flextimelawyers.com.

The survey praises McGuireWoods’ quarterly luncheons run by the women lawyers network that help female lawyers advance. It also takes note of the firm’s 18 weeks of paid maternity leave, adoption aid, subsidized backup care and flex schedules that support parents.
