Robert Fox has joined McGuireWoods as Managing Director, Private Equity, bringing more than a decade of experience working with law firms and M&A professionals to build business relationships and identify deal opportunities. He is based in the firm’s Los Angeles-Century City office.
Fox will help drive many of McGuireWoods’ innovative private equity initiatives, including its national independent sponsor and emerging manager programs. He joins McGuireWoods from O’Melveny & Myers, where he led corporate business development efforts and connected lawyers with investors, capital providers and other industry professionals. Fox also has led business development for a multifamily office and investment firm. He recently was named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “2022 Leaders of Influence: Private Equity Investors & Advisors.”
“Rob’s experience, business acumen and vast network of private equity contacts will enhance our market-leading capabilities and add tremendous value for clients,” said Tom Zahn, chair of McGuireWoods’ Corporate & Private Equity Department.
McGuireWoods consistently ranks among the leaders in U.S. and global M&A deals — including private equity transactions — in league tables published by Bloomberg and Refinitiv. The firm represents clients in all types of private equity deals, including leveraged buyouts, roll-ups, minority and junior capital investments, and independent sponsor transactions.
The firm’s nationally recognized independent sponsor program is a first-of-its-kind law firm enterprise that connects independent sponsors with capital partners, senior executives and other market participants in a pioneering private equity deal-sourcing ecosystem. The firm’s emerging manager program focuses on helping new fund managers achieve success through curated introductions to limited partners and unique networking opportunities.
“McGuireWoods has made its mark with innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives to help private equity clients flourish,” Fox said. “I look forward to putting my experience and relationships to work to help the firm and clients build on that success.”
