McGuireWoods’ Robert Holland to Join Martin Marietta

August 30, 2023

Robert “Bobby” Holland, counsel in McGuireWoods’ Labor & Employment Department in Richmond, will join Martin Marietta in Raleigh as assistant general counsel on Sept. 5, 2023. In his new role, Holland will be responsible for labor and employment compliance.

Holland was a 2001 summer associate with McGuireWoods who joined the firm as an associate the following year after graduating from the University of Richmond School of Law. At McGuireWoods, Holland advised clients on compliance issues associated with being a federal contractor; defended clients in enforcement litigation, investigations and compliance reviews brought by the Department of Labor; and litigated employment and commercial cases concentrating on employment discrimination, torts, noncompete agreements and trade secrets, and wrongful discharge. He volunteers with the Legal Aid Justice Center where he counsels clients and litigates landlord-tenant disputes.

“I consider McGuireWoods to be family and will greatly miss working with all of the wonderful people here,” Holland said. “I am grateful for the wonderful opportunities McGuireWoods has given me and the people with whom I have been privileged to work.”

“Bobby has been a valued member of our team for years and he will be missed,” said Century City partner Sabrina A. Beldner, chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Department. “We wish him all the best as he continues his career at Martin Marietta.”
