McGuireWoods’ David Greenspan Named to Legal Services Corp.’s Leaders Council

November 5, 2025

The Legal Services Corp. (LSC), the largest funder of civil legal aid for low-income Americans, has appointed McGuireWoods partner David L. Greenspan to its Leaders Council, a select group of prominent figures in law, business, academia, entertainment and beyond who spread awareness of LSC’s mission.

The nomination of Greenspan, an employment litigator in the firm’s Tysons, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. offices, was approved by LSC’s board of directors.

Greenspan serves as McGuireWoods’ pro bono partner, heading the firm’s commitment to developing and sustaining nationally recognized pro bono programs. He also serves as the Past President of the Board of Directors for Legal Services of Northern Virginia.

“Everybody, regardless of financial resources, should have access to legal assistance when they face matters that could affect their safety, stability and well-being,” said Greenspan. “I am honored and excited to join the Leaders Council to support LSC at this critical time.”

Congress created LSC in 1974 to ensure that low-income individuals and families have access to justice and due process. It is headed by a bipartisan board of directors whose 11 members are appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. LSC helps fund 130 local legal aid programs in every congressional district and five U.S. territories. Grantees help constituents who live in households with annual incomes at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines with family law, veterans issues, natural disaster assistance and housing matters.

McGuireWoods Chairman Jonathan P. Harmon said, “Civil legal aid is an important part of our system of justice, and we are proud David will play a role in advancing LSC’s mission. We know he will do an excellent job.”
