Clients turn to Greg to handle their most important commercial disputes, whether that is defending a $1 billion contract claim or achieving a nine-figure international arbitration award. Drawing on his extensive experience representing clients at trial and on appeal, Greg is as comfortable delivering a closing argument as he is drafting a dispositive motion. That same experience equips Greg to drive his clients’ strategic goals at every stage of litigation. A Marine veteran, Greg received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Yale University and graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School.

Given his diverse skillset, clients trust Greg to achieve optimal results in an array of practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, torts, environmental litigation, and insurance recovery. Greg has first-chaired nearly a dozen trials, argued appeals throughout the country, and represented clients in international arbitration.

Greg also maintains a robust pro bono practice and co-leads McGuireWoods’s pro bono Appellate Justice Initiative. In that role, Greg represents clients convicted of murder and other criminal offenses in courts around the country, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

Following law school, Greg served for six years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated in the top 1% of his class at The Basic School and was the honor graduate from Naval Justice School, where he also received the New York City Bar Association’s Trial Advocacy Award. Greg’s efforts as a defense counsel—including five acquittals in a five-month span—led to his selection as the Marine Corps Defense Counsel of the Year.

At Yale, Greg was a four-year letter winner in lacrosse and received All-Ivy and All-New England honors. At Harvard Law School, Greg received the Irving Oberman Memorial Prize for legal history writing.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Greg clerked for Judge D. Michael Fisher of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
