Ryan focuses his practice on product liability and consumer class action matters representing corporate defendants in state and federal courts across the country. Ryan has substantial experience reviewing all phases of motions practice, trial preparation, and appellate matters.

Before joining McGuireWoods, Ryan clerked for the Honorable Henry E. Hudson, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Honorable Randolph A. Beales, Judge for the Court of Appeals of Virginia.

During law school, Ryan served as an articles and comments editor for the University of Richmond Law Review and president of the Real Estate Law Society. He also worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Roger L. Gregory in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Ryan received CALI Awards for Excellence in the study of Products Liability Law, Torts, and Federal Income Taxation.

In 2014, Ryan joined the Virginia Army National Guard, serving as a platoon leader, lead plans officer, and company commander.
