Emma R. Leonelli Associate

Emma is an associate in the financial services litigation department where her practice focuses on representing major financial institutions in a variety of consumer actions. Emma has experience litigating financial services matters involving mortgage lending and servicing, high-risk consumer class actions, securities lending programs, auto financing, Ponzi schemes, and affiliated mutual fund investments.

Emma also has experience litigating complex commercial disputes involving contract, tort, statutory, and related business claims. She maintains an active employment law practice representing corporations in large-scale matters involving discrimination and restrictive covenant claims.


Defense of national bank in class action claiming that the bank aided and abetted Ponzi schemes.

Defense of major financial institutions from a variety of mortgage-related claims in several putative class actions in federal courts across the country.

Management of multiple single-plaintiff automobile lending portfolio matters.

Participate in the successful resolution of numerous matters involving the imposition of injunctions and temporary restraining orders involving employee non-compete agreements.

Defense of national corporation in high-risk litigation involving Title VII gender discrimination and retaliation claims. 

First-chair appellate argument in successful appeal before the Pennsylvania Superior Court in matter involving breach of contract and warranty claims.

Successful appeal before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in matter involving claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Practice Act, Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and Federal Truth in Lending Act.
