Michael focuses his practice on financial services litigation, where he represents national financial institutions in a broad range of lawsuits.
Before joining McGuireWoods, Michael represented insurance carriers and corporate clients at a regional insurance defense law firm. Michael appeared numerous times before the North Carolina Industrial Commission on behalf of clients regarding all disputes under the North Carolina Workers Compensation Act as well as handled mediations and depositions.
From the start of his legal career, Michael recognized the importance of advocacy attending Stetson University College of Law a national recognized trial advocacy law school. Additionally, Michael completed pro bono work with the 18th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in Sanford, Florida while pursuing his law degree to further develop immediate litigation experience.
Michael understands the impact of litigation on clients’ livelihood as well as the value of resolving disputes timely and in a respectful manner.
