Stewart Roberson has served as a business and educational leader for several decades. Since 2011, he served as chair, president and CEO of Moseley Inc., one of the nation’s leading firms specializing in the design of large, public institutional facilities nationally and internationally. Recently, he was a member of the Virginia Board of Education under former Gov. Ralph Northam. Prior to this, he developed a reputation as a prominent educator, steering Virginia school districts in Falls Church and Hanover County and earning a distinction as one of Virginia’s longest-serving school superintendents. He is a University of Virginia faculty member where he has instructed over 3000 graduate students.

Stewart’s experiences in the corporate and educational arenas have established a deep network throughout the mid-Atlantic and beyond, including business leaders, K-12 and higher education leaders, and local and state government leaders. He applies his skills as a listener, consensus and capacity builder, strategic thinker and process leader within environments experiencing the challenges of significant growth, mergers and policy implementation. He has been appointed to significant statewide roles within Virginia by leaders of both political parties. Additionally, he has chaired and served on several boards with national and international areas of focus.

Virginia Business has included Stewart on its annual “500 Power List” of business leaders within Virginia. In addition to his board service with Moseley, he was a member of the board of Eastern Virginia Bankshares. He has been an executive committee member on the board of directors of Chamber RVA and is a former chair of The Forum Club in Richmond, a diverse group of business and community leaders. He is currently a trustee of Virginia Learns, an education-focused board of business leaders. He is also a trustee of the Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges, and he chairs the Patrick County Education Foundation. Presently, Stewart serves on the Commission for School Construction and Modernization as an appointee of the Virginia Senate.
