Frederick H. Schutt Associate

Fred focuses his practice on labor and employment law. Fred has defended employers in federal and states courts against claims alleging wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, as well as violations of Title VII, Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Fred also advises employers on various employment issues. Fred regularly advises clients on workplace safety issues and represents employers under investigation by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Fred devoted a significant portion of his practice to insurance coverage matters, representing both policy holders with respect to insurance recovery and insurers in coverage litigation.

Fred earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia, where he served on the editorial board of the Virginia Law Review.
