Halimah is an associate in the firm’s Commercial Litigation department. She focuses on complex commercial litigation disputes, with particular experience in cross-jurisdictional matters involving allegations of fraud.
Halimah has extensive experience advising corporates, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals on a wide range of commercial and financial disputes, including High Court litigation and LCIA arbitration. In addition to Halimah’s experience in private practice, her in-house experience at an international conglomerate provides her with an invaluable insight into the inner workings of business.
- Represented one of the world’s largest interdealer brokers in a multi-million-pound High Court and Court of Appeal matter involving allegations of dishonest assistance and fraudulent trading within the carbon credit market.*
- Represented a group of defendants in High Court civil fraud claims brought by an investment manager concerning the circumstances of the refinancing of a commercial loan to a football club.*
- Represented an asset management company in a High Court dispute concerning the contractual interpretation and profit-sharing arrangements under a memorandum of understanding.*
- Acted for the shareholder of a Singapore-based shipping company in a series of high-value shipping finance disputes involving several worldwide freezing injunctions obtained by financial institutions in both the UK and Singapore, arising from alleged fraudulent breaches of vessel lending facilities.*
- Represented a corporate client in the ultra-luxury Montenegrin hospitality sector in a complex LCIA arbitration concerning multiple contracts and several European state-owned counterparties.*
- Advised an ultra-high-net-worth individual in relation to an international money laundering investigation brought by the UK National Crime Agency.*
- Advised an international high-net-worth individual during the pre-action phase of a multi-million-pound inheritance dispute involving Sharia’ah law, collaborating internationally with advisors in Jordan, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.*
