Sam is a commercial litigator who represents clients in complex disputes and appeals across a wide range of industries. His practice includes both appellate and trial matters in both state and federal courts involving contract disputes, regulatory issues, constitutional law, and other high-stakes commercial litigation.

Before joining McGuireWoods, Samuel practiced in the appellate and constitutional law group of another major firm in Washington, D.C.  He served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and graduated magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law, where he was the lead articles editor for the Duke Law Journal.
