Howard concentrates his practice in real estate and structured finance, banking and creditors’ rights. He has extensive experience in lender representations in complex real estate transactions including syndicated transactions.

His focus encompasses portfolio and conduit real estate financing, including construction financing, of commercial and industrial properties, commercial mortgage banking services, and loan servicing from the lender’s perspective.

With respect to bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, he has experience with representing secured and unsecured creditors in all aspects of complex debt restructurings, reorganizations and workouts in and out of the bankruptcy context in the real estate financing areas.

Howard advises commercial mortgage banking originators and servicers relating to the origination and servicing of mortgage loans both pre and post securitization.

In regard to structured finance transactions, Howard represents a government sponsored enterprise in advance financings secured by a pledge or sale of a servicer’s advance receivables and facilities secured by mortgage servicing rights involving syndications, note sales and repurchase agreements.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Howard served as deputy general counsel at AMRESCO, Inc. in Dallas, Texas.

  • Representation of a government sponsored enterprise in revolving lines of credit secured by a sale or pledge of advance receivables.
