Matthew Weinstein is a land use and zoning attorney with experience obtaining entitlement approvals in Northern Virginia with a particular focus in Arlington County. Matt has specialized in obtaining entitlements in Arlington County for projects ranging from multi-family affordable housing to complex utility infrastructure.

Outside of his land use experience, Matt specializes in obtaining ABC licenses and providing advice on political law matters. Matt’s ABC experience includes obtaining commercial lifestyle center licenses for mixed use shopping centers and ABC licenses for a sports arena. Matt’s political law experience includes providing advice on campaign finance, lobbying, and gift regulations across the country.

As a longtime Arlingtonian, Matt is actively involved in Arlington civic, business, and political life. Notably, the Governor of Virginia appointed Matt to the Virginia State Board of Elections in 2023 where Matt is responsible for overseeing state and federal elections in Virginia.

Matt was also actively involved in politics before he started practicing law. After law school Matt served as senior staff on several statewide races in Virginia and was chief of staff for a senior member of the Virginia House of Delegates for several sessions. Matt also worked for U.S. Senator Mark Warner throughout law school.
