McGuireWoods’ midtown Manhattan office supports the firm’s integrated, global teams of litigation and transactional lawyers who assist our U.S. and global clients in negotiating courts, business communities and regulators in New York and throughout the world. Whether coordinating a multi-jurisdiction litigation strategy for our Fortune 500 clients, acting as lead or liaison counsel in complex litigations or leading multi-jurisdiction financings for our lead arranger or private equity clients, the New York office draws upon the resources of the firm’s 1,100 lawyers in 21 offices.

Our New York lawyers practice in commercial litigation, toxic tort and environmental litigation, labor and employment, white-collar and governmental investigations, restructuring, syndicated lending, asset-based lending, public finance, intellectual property, and international trade and customs. Our clients in this market are as diverse as the services we provide and vary from Fortune 500 entities to start-ups. They represent (among others) domestic and foreign multi-nationals, banks and other financial institutions, manufacturers, retailers, trading companies, airlines, ocean carriers and technology concerns.

The New York office has recently expanded the depth of its capabilities in financial services and other commercial litigation and arbitration. Our lawyers represent a wide range of financial institutions, public companies and individuals in federal and state trial and appellate courts, and before various government agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice and state law enforcement and regulatory agencies. The office also has several experienced toxic/mass tort litigators, who act as both national and New York counsel in asbestos and other mass tort claims in state and federal courts, including serving as defense liaison counsel in high-visibility, multi-party litigations.

Demonstrating McGuireWoods’ core value of service, the firm’s New York lawyers and staff are committed to giving back to the community and support organizations such as My Sisters’ Place and other regional programs and events. Part of this commitment is volunteering personal and professional time year-round. Our pro bono work includes asylum and death penalty cases.
