Jeffries, a member of the firm’s Regulatory & Compliance Department and a board certified specialist in utilities law, discussed the benefits of legal specialization and what he has learned over the past year working through the pandemic.
Because it has its own procedures, tribunals, guiding principles and precedent, utilities law is well-suited for specialization, Jeffries said. He added that 2020 was the busiest year of his career because “even in a recession or a pandemic, people need the services provided by utilities, and the regulation of those utilities continues.”
