Virginia Business magazine featured Jack L. White, managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Tysons, Virginia, office, in its June 2026 edition. The profile is part of the magazine’s “Virginia 500” series spotlighting the state’s most influential leaders in business, government, politics and education.
White is a partner in the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Practice Group and co-leads the Congressional Investigations Practice Group. In Virginia Business, he reflected on the importance of lifelong learning and relationships, advising new college graduates that “your education doesn’t end with graduation, it’s just beginning and will continue forever.” He also encouraged professionals to embrace artificial intelligence, noting that the key question is not what to do about AI, but “what you can do with it.”
White, who served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in South Korea for three years, described success as “being able to meaningfully help others and being someone people rely upon.”
The profile also highlighted an interesting chapter from his early career. Before becoming a lawyer, White worked as a screenwriter for MTV, writing public service announcements after being recruited following a speech on voting rights.
