McGuireWoods attorneys and staff support reading campaign at local school

January 26, 2012

Students at Love T. Nolan Elementary School will arrive pajama-clad this Friday, Jan. 27, for a read-a-thon event to be held from 8 a.m. until noon. Attorneys and staff from McGuireWoods LLP, as well as professionals from the Hartsfield-Jackson Department of Aviation and PAGE Turners Make Great Learners, Inc., will read to students at the event to enrich their love of reading. In addition to reading to the students on Friday, McGuireWoods will be donating several books to the school’s library and will provide each student with a bookmark to take home.

As part of the school’s reading campaign, Nolan students in pre-K through fifth grade were challenged to read for a collective total of 500,000 minutes last August, including time spent reading at both home and school. Friday’s read-a-thon will be the culmination of the campaign.

PAGE Turners, a nonprofit organization founded in 2003, aims to motivate and instill a love of reading in children at an early age through reading campaigns and donating books to students throughout metropolitan Atlanta.
