Virginia Business Magazine Ranks 37 McGuireWoods Lawyers in ‘Legal Elite’

Firm Tops Bankruptcy/Creditors’ Rights Category

December 1, 2014

Thirty-seven McGuireWoods lawyers from five offices were selected by their professional peers to be included in Virginia Business magazine’s 2014 Legal Elite, which was published in the December issue.

Notably, McGuireWoods has four lawyers listed in the area of Bankruptcy/Creditors’ Rights, the most of any firm in the state. This comes on the heels of the firm’s national Tier 1 ranking in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law in the 2015 edition of U.S. News-Best Lawyers’ “Best Law Firms.”

Four firm lawyers also are listed in the Legal Elite categories of Business Law, Civil Litigation, and Taxes/Estates/Trusts/Elder Law. Overall, McGuireWoods lawyers are represented in 14 categories.

Virginia Business publishes the Legal Elite list annually in collaboration with the Virginia Bar Association. More than 1,300 lawyers participated in this year’s balloting, submitting more than 3,000 nominations in various categories. The magazine selected 920 lawyers for inclusion on the 2014 Legal Elite list.
