McGuireWoods ranked among the top 10 law firms in two highly respected league tables for the number of U.S. mid-market M&A deals it handled for clients during the first nine months of 2016.
The firm ranked seventh in deal count for U.S. transactions valued up to $500 million in Bloomberg’s Global M&A Mid-Market Legal Advisory Rankings, with 86 deals through Sept. 30. The firm achieved a No. 7 ranking in the same category in Thomson Reuters’ Mid-Market M&A Legal Review.
In the Thomson Reuters league tables, the firm also placed 26th in deal count for worldwide M&A deals valued up to $500 million with 92 transactions with a combined value of $3.3 billion.
The mid-market rankings follow McGuireWoods’ strong showing in Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg league tables for overall M&A deal work involving U.S.-based targets through Sept. 30, with the firm taking the No. 11 and No. 13 spots, respectively.
“The mid-market rankings are the latest testament to the depth of our corporate departments and the dedication of our outstanding lawyers,” said David Pusateri, deputy managing partner for McGuireWoods’ corporate practice. “We’re grateful for the trust our clients have placed in us and proud to represent them in these transactions.”
With more than 100 lawyers, McGuireWoods’ M&A team counsels clients on matters throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim. The firm’s nationwide M&A practice is ranked in the 2016 edition of The Legal 500 United States.
