McGuireWoods’ Blank, Rogers and Bittner Named BTI Client Service All-Stars for 2017

February 9, 2017

McGuireWoods partners Jonathan Blank and Marvin Rogers and senior counsel Robert Bittner are recognized for client service excellence in BTI Consulting Group’s 2017 Client Service All-Stars report, based on unprompted feedback from corporate counsel.

Lawyers chosen as All-Stars stand out for their ability “to rise above all others with the most demanding clients,” according to the report, which is based on BTI’s interviews with 311 legal decision-makers from companies with annual revenue of $1 billion or more.

“The class of 2017 BTI Client Service All-Stars is especially sought after by clients as their needs have shifted in response to the surge in complex work,” the BTI report states. “These attorneys are proactive in building client relationships. They take, and make, the time to understand their clients in depth — their business, their objectives, and their goals. This elite group enjoys a clear cut advantage over the competition.”

Blank, managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Charlottesville, Virginia, office, was nominated for the BTI list by a leading utility company. His practice spans all aspects of the energy industry, having litigated matters involving mineral rights, royalty, transportation, construction, consumer protection, antitrust and fraud, among others. Blank has been a BTI Client Service All-Star three times in five years. Only 54 of the 319 lawyers in this year’s class have made the prestigious list more than once.

Rogers, a debt finance partner in Charlotte, North Carolina, was nominated by a prominent professional services firm. He represents financial institutions, equity providers, borrowers and issuers in transactions including project financings, investment-grade credits, cash flow credits and leveraged acquisitions. His experience also includes financing of power generation assets, infrastructure projects, manufacturing facilities and technology companies.

Bittner, based in Pittsburgh, practices real estate law. He represents developers, lenders, retail companies, landlords and tenants in real estate financing, leasing, acquisition, disposition and development. A major transportation company nominated him.

“It’s especially rewarding when clients recognize the efforts of exceptional lawyers like Jonathan, Marvin and Robert who go the extra mile to understand their business goals,” said Tom Cabaniss, managing partner of McGuireWoods. “These well-deserved honors are a testament to their commitment to excellent client service.”
