McGuireWoods’ Kristen McDermott Woodrum Elected to American Health Law Association Board

McGuireWoods partner Kristen McDermott Woodrum has been elected to the American Health Law Association (AHLA) board of directors, effective July 1, 2025. The AHLA is the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit educational organization devoted to legal issues in the healthcare field.

Woodrum focuses on transactions and regulatory matters in the healthcare industry. A member of AHLA, she served as co-chair of the 2025 Advising Providers program planning committee. She chaired the AHLA Physicians and Hospitals Law Institute program planning committee from 2021-2024 and was a member from 2015-2021. She also served as a vice chair of the AHLA Behavioral Health Task Force from 2013-2016.

“I am honored to have been selected for this position with AHLA,” Woodrum said. “I look forward to contributing to the association’s mission of providing education, resources and networking opportunities to health law professionals across the country.”

In her role as a member of the board of directors, Woodrum will help shape the future direction of AHLA and support initiatives that advance the practice of health law.

Woodrum speaks frequently at AHLA conferences and contributes to the organization’s publications.

AHLA provides a forum for interaction and information exchange to enable its more than 13,000 members to serve their clients more effectively. AHLA produces nonpartisan educational programs, products and services concerning health law issues and serves as a public resource on selected healthcare legal issues.
