McGuireWoods again was named one of the nation’s leading law firms for client service in BTI Consulting’s 2026 Client Service A-Team report, marking the 14th consecutive year it ranked among the top 5% of all firms in the survey of corporate counsel.
McGuireWoods is one of only six firms nationwide to earn a coveted top 30 ranking for at least 10 straight years in BTI’s annual survey of law firm performance — the gold standard for measuring client service excellence.
“This sustained run highlights a firm delivering consistently adaptable client service excellence, supported by strong relationship building and disciplined execution,” the BTI report stated.
The report is based on in-depth interviews with corporate counsel and C-level executives at companies with revenue of $1 billion or more.

The BTI report identified high-value client service areas where McGuireWoods differentiates itself from competitors:
- Client Focus & Business Understanding. BTI called this “a defining strength,” noting the firm invests heavily in client relationships and demonstrates deep knowledge of client industries.
- Value for the Dollar. McGuireWoods balances quality with efficiency and reinforces long-term client trust. BTI described these attributes as “a standout differentiator.”
- Practical Solutions & Execution. Clients said the firm provides actionable, business-oriented advice and moves matters forward with clarity.
- Communication & Client Awareness. McGuireWoods keeps clients informed, maintains transparency and supports confident decision-making, clients told BTI.
- Commitment to Help & Relationship Strength. The firm includes clients early in discussions and brings working knowledge of client sensitivities, according to the BTI report.
