Kristen assists clients in traversing regulatory, compliance, corporate transactional, and reimbursement issues related to the healthcare industry. She counsels clients on the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, Medicare policy, state fraud and abuse laws, state corporate practice of medicine laws, state licensure laws, HIPAA, fee-splitting prohibitions, and other regulatory matters. She also focuses her practice on pharmacy law and the 340B program, life sciences, medical devices, and other FDA matters.

Kristen has experience representing clients across several different sectors within the healthcare industry, including hospitals, health systems, pharmacies, telehealth providers, durable medical equipment suppliers, drug and medical device manufacturers and distributors, optical retailers and providers, physician practices, physical and rehabilitation therapy groups, infusion therapy providers, dialysis clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, health IT companies, and safety net providers. Her work includes assessing and advising on healthcare compliance, structuring transactions and physician compensation programs, performing regulatory due diligence, developing and revising compliance policies and procedures, and negotiating agreements.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Kristen worked on healthcare regulatory compliance matters at another law firm specialized in health law, assisted with corporate counsel matters an intern at the American Medical Association, and studied vaccine policy matters as a research associate at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. Kristen also served as an extern to Magistrate Judge Patricia J. Gorence (ret.) at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and assisted pro se individuals in that capacity.
