Allison Kendrick is a highly experienced product liability lawyer with nearly three decades of experience in aviation accident litigation. Throughout her career, in addition to handling high-profile and complex litigation, Allison has counseled aerospace manufacturers on the full spectrum of product liability matters, including litigation strategy, risk mitigation, product warnings, and regulatory compliance.
Allison also has decades of experience guiding companies through crisis response following accidents and incidents, including legal support for communications, government investigations, and international aviation accident investigations. She has developed deep familiarity with the rules for participating in those investigations, including those followed by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and ICAO Annex 13.
Before joining McGuireWoods, for over 15 years Allison oversaw products liability litigation for one of the world’s largest aerospace companies. She managed both in-house and outside counsel teams and worked with in-house experts and senior management to protect the company’s interests. Before her in-house role, Allison was a litigation partner at an AmLaw 100 firm where she defended aerospace manufacturers in litigation around the world.
Allison’s practice encompasses complex product liability disputes involving commercial, military, and general aviation aircraft in both U.S. and foreign courts. She brings a unique combination of senior in-house and law firm perspectives to her practice.
As chief counsel for products liability at one of the world’s largest aerospace manufacturers, responsible for all products liability matters, both for commercial and military aircraft, around the world; provided legal support to all commercial aviation accident investigations and selected military investigations; and advised on proactive risk-management strategies and crisis management.
- Responsible for in-house management of accident investigations and products liability litigation arising from 737 MAX accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia, 737 MAX door plug accident in Oregon, and 787 lithium-ion battery grounding, among many other cases.*
- As outside counsel, represented leading global aircraft manufacturer in U.S. and Indonesian litigation arising out of 2005 737 accident in Medan Indonesia.*
- As outside counsel, represented leading global aircraft manufacturer in U.S. and Greek courts in litigation arising out of 2005 737 accident in Athens, Greece.*
- As outside counsel, represented leading global aircraft manufacture in U.S. and French courts in litigation arising out of 2004 737 accident near Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.*
