Billy is a member of the firm’s financial services litigation team. In his practice, Billy represents clients in high-stakes, complex litigation involving the enforcement of restrictive covenants, allegations of fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and other tort claims.

Billy practices regularly in the North Carolina Business Court, federal courts, and state superior courts. In the financial services space, Billy defends investment companies, financial institutions, broker-dealers, and others in a wide array of litigation and third-party matters.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Billy served as a law clerk for Judge Julianna T. Earp of the North Carolina Business Court before joining a regional firm as a litigation associate. Billy received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and his law degree from the University of North Carolina, where he worked as an intern for Judge David C. Keesler of the Western District of North Carolina and was president of the Broun National Trial Team.
