Alec advises clients on a broad range of federal, state and local tax issues, focusing on tax and governance issues impacting tax-exempt organizations.

Alec regularly assists clients with state unclaimed property laws, including statutory reporting requirements and exemptions, and in defense of audits conducted by state unclaimed property departments and their contingent-fee auditors.

His experience also includes representing clients in disputes with federal, state and local taxing jurisdictions, and advising clients on various state and local tax matters.

Alec received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law and graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, Alec worked as an intern with the Community Tax Law Project and an extern with the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel.
