Rhea represents international companies and individual clients in a wide range of complex litigation matters, with a focus on government and internal investigations. Rhea also represents financial services clients in complex securities matters, focusing on regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and internal investigations.
Rhea maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on constitutional litigation and legal advocacy.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Rhea clerked for the Northern District of Texas where she drafted orders and memoranda in connection with dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
Experience
- Represented individuals affiliated with U.S.-listed public companies in connection with SEC and DOJ allegations of accounting fraud.
- Represented a healthcare company in criminal and civil investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice.
- Represented individuals and financial institutions accused of violating the False Claims Act in responding to administrative subpoenas.
- Represented a former corporate employee in a Department of Justice antitrust trial.
- Represented U.S. listed public companies and broker dealers in responding to subpoenas issued by the SEC.
- Represented a broker-dealer in a FINRA enforcement action related to their Regulation D offerings.
- Counseled multiple Wall Street firms’ institutional and retail broker-dealer businesses in responding to regulatory inquiries ranging from cyclic examinations to enforcement actions with the SEC, FINRA, and/or the exchanges.
- Counseled broker dealers with respect to enforcement proceedings and examinations involving securities transaction reports, including Electronic Bluesheets (EBS) and Consolidated Audit Trail (“CAT”).
