Gizem is an associate in the firm’s Government Investigations & White-Collar Practice Group, where she represents corporations and individuals in government investigations, regulatory enforcement actions, and complex commercial litigation matters. Her practice draws on extensive experience navigating antitrust investigations, responding to government subpoenas, and advising multinational clients on regulatory compliance strategies.
Prior to joining the firm, Gizem has defended major corporate defendants in some of the largest U.S. antitrust class actions, leading complex discovery negotiations, taking and defending depositions, managing expert witness preparation, and drafting Daubert motions. She has developed defense strategies and managed cases across state, federal, and international antitrust investigations, and has negotiated with government agencies to limit the scope of subpoenas and prepared clients for government investigation depositions.
Gizem earned her JD from Washington University School of Law, where she served as articles editor of the Washington University Law Review. During law school, Gizem served as a judicial extern for Magistrate Judge Nanette A. Baker in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. She is recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch and serves as vice chair of the ABA Antitrust Section’s Civil Practice & Procedure Committee.
- Defense of a major corporate defendant in one of the largest U.S. antitrust class actions, including leading complex discovery negotiations, taking and defending depositions of company executives (including Vice Presidents and former CEOs), managing expert witness preparation, and drafting Daubert motions.*
- Defense of a major third-party corporate client in related federal, state and MDL actions, including data and document production negotiations, high-volume document review, claims analysis, and deposition preparation and second-chair defense of company director.
- Defense of a major financial institution in a U.S. antitrust class action, including negotiating data production scope and supervising a team of 14 reviewers conducting second-level analysis of over a million documents.*
- Negotiated and obtained a settlement for defendant in state enforcement action concerning allegations of algorithmic price fixing.*
- Dismissal obtained for a large institutional client regarding an antitrust matter in the MENA region.*
- Counsel to multinational clients on antitrust risks and compliance strategies related to pricing algorithms, channel partner restrictions, distribution agreements, and vertical restraints.*
