Gerum is a member of the firm’s Board of Partners and serves on the firm’s finance committee. Gerum primarily focuses his practice on structuring, negotiating and documenting syndicated, club, single lender and multicurrency credit facilities. His experience includes cash-flow, asset-based, leveraged acquisition, dividend recapitalization and real estate financing transactions, including senior secured, pro rata, second lien and mezzanine loans.

He has extensive experience representing financial institutions on a wide range of complex financing transactions including the financing of life sciences companies (including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers and distributors), physician practice management groups, senior care owners and operators, hospitals and other healthcare provider organizations. Gerum’s work has earned him recognition for banking and finance law in the prestigious Chambers USA guide, Legal 500 United States, Commercial Lending and in The Best Lawyers in America. Gerum is also a frequent speaker at McGuireWoods’ annual Healthcare Private Equity and Finance Conference.
