The additions of highly regarded financial services litigators in Pittsburgh and San Francisco and top white-collar lawyers in New York earned McGuireWoods the top spot on the The Legal Intelligencer’s list of biggest lateral moves in 2016. Seven Pittsburgh-based financial services litigators who joined the firm last year are featured on the cover of the newspaper’s special section, “Top Laterals/New Partners,” published March 21.
The newspaper, which focuses on Pennsylvania legal news, led its list of top 10 lateral moves with the McGuireWoods litigators who joined the firm last year from Reed Smith. They include Pittsburgh partners Mary Hackett, Jarrod Shaw, K. Issac deVyver and Melissa Moran Taylor, and associates Benjamin Sitter, Nellie Hestin and Karla Johnson, who appear together on the cover of the special section.
The story also notes the addition of David Reidy, chair of the firm’s FinTech industry team, who was among the partners involved in the launch of McGuireWoods’ San Francisco office; as well as white-collar partners William E. Goydan, John Lukanski and Kiran Somashekara in New York.
The lawyers and groups selected for the list “were either a major get for their new firm, a big loss for their former firm, brought a large book of business, or a leader in their practice areas,” The Legal Intelligencer reported.
