National legal and energy industry media covered the arrival of McGuireWoods partner Bernard L. McNamee, who returned to the firm Dec. 7, 2020, after serving as a commissioner on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). McNamee is a law firm partner and senior advisor with McGuireWoods Consulting.
The National Law Journal, Law360, Bloomberg Law, Thomson Reuters’ Westlaw Today, Politico Energy, the Washington Examiner, E&E News Greenwire, Hart Energy and Power Markets Today were among the outlets publishing news of McNamee’s return.
“I’m excited to be rejoining McGuireWoods. It’s a law firm with a great energy practice that’s nationally recognized with smart, fantastic lawyers,” McNamee told the NLJ.
McNamee told Law360 that his role will include work on federal and state policymaking and strategic counsel for the energy industry. He will provide clients with insights on matters ranging from new federal energy and environmental regulations under the incoming Biden administration to how electricity markets are affected by the changing U.S. grid, he said.
“I am going to take a broader view, to try and help clients manage some of the challenges that are taking place,” McNamee told Law360.
