Law360, Bloomberg Law, Securities Docket and Daily Report were among the national media outlets that covered the return of accomplished litigator and former federal prosecutor Natasha Cooper to McGuireWoods as a partner in the firm’s nationally recognized Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Practice Group.
Cooper rejoins the firm’s Atlanta office after serving for four years as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Northern District of Georgia. She led multimillion-dollar fraud and cybercrime investigations involving international targets and prosecuted matters involving securities and tax fraud, phishing and ransomware attacks, and corporate embezzlement.
Cooper’s return follows the recent addition of former U.S. attorneys Ryan Buchanan, who served with Cooper in the Northern District of Georgia, Michael Easley Jr. and Eric Olshan. In Law360’s June 11, 2025, story, Cooper said she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to return to the firm to work alongside such a deep bench of former federal prosecutors.
“When I had the opportunity to go to [the] U.S. attorney’s office, I had to take it,” Cooper said. “It was a phenomenal opportunity, but McGuireWoods has always been one of my homes. I have always had the utmost respect for the government investigation and white collar group. It’s nationally respected and trusted by clients.”
Reuters also noted Cooper’s arrival in the June 12 edition of its legal newsletter, “The Daily Docket.”
