McGuireWoods LLP and the Paris-based law firm KGA Avocats have announced a non-exclusive cooperation agreement between the two firms. The agreement, which was recently approved by the Paris Bar Association, expands for both firms the ability to serve existing clients and jointly market their capabilities across the United Kingdom, elsewhere in Europe and the United States. KGA’s strong relationships in the domestic and international business community complement McGuireWoods’ strong national and increasingly global client base, offering both firms greater opportunities for growth and a broader base for client service.
This announcement comes just a year after McGuireWoods signed a similar cooperation agreement with the Israeli law firm Shenhav, Konforti, Shavit & Co. (SKS).
Founded in 1945, KGA serves clients across a wide variety of industry sectors, including defense, media and telecommunications, transportation infrastructure, land and air transport, and biotechnology. Its clients include a wide range of multinationals, governments and individuals across disciplines and borders.
“This is a great opportunity for both firms,” said Tom Cabaniss, managing partner of McGuireWoods. “We are looking forward to helping KGA serve its clients on matters outside of France, including across the EU and in the United States.”
François Klein, managing partner of KGA, said, “We are enthusiastic about this alliance. We share many values with McGuireWoods and our teams’ joint forces will represent a strong asset for our respective clients.”
