McGuireWoods Ranks Among Top Five Law Firms for U.S. M&A Deals in 2019

Firm Also Repeats Top 10 Performance for Global Deals

McGuireWoods solidified its position as a leading law firm for U.S. and global M&A transactions in 2019, earning top five rankings for U.S. deal count and top 10 rankings for global deals in year-end league tables published by Refinitiv and Bloomberg.

The firm placed fourth for deals involving U.S. targets in Refinitiv’s rankings and fifth for U.S. deal count in Bloomberg’s league tables. McGuireWoods was eighth in Bloomberg’s report and ninth in Refinitiv’s rankings for global M&A deals.

McGuireWoods also continued its strong performance in mid-market M&A, with top deal count rankings in multiple categories. The firm was third in Refinitiv’s league tables for mid-market deals involving U.S. targets and fifth for all U.S. deals in Bloomberg’s rankings. For worldwide mid-market deals, McGuireWoods was seventh in Bloomberg’s report and ninth in Refinitiv’s rankings.

The firm’s significant M&A work includes representing Speedway Motorsports Inc. in a $234 million deal to realign the ownership of major NASCAR racing venues; advising Revelstoke Capital Partners in forming a partnership with Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine for a national medical management services organization; and assisting SPX Corp. in acquiring marine and aviation lighting assets from Carmanah Technologies Corp.
