McGuireWoods solidified its standing as a leading law firm for advising corporate issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions in 2022, achieving top 10 rankings in year-end league tables published by Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
McGuireWoods placed among the top firms in the following categories in Refinitiv’s Global Capital Markets Review:
- sixth in proceeds and 16th in deal count for U.S. straight debt excluding asset-backed securities (ABS) and mortgage-backed securities (MBS);
- eighth in proceeds for global straight debt excluding ABS and MBS;
- ninth in proceeds and 24th in deal count for U.S. debt, equity and equity-related transactions;
- 14th in proceeds for global debt, equity and equity-related transactions; and
- 14th in deal count for Canada all debt transactions.
In addition, the firm earned high rankings in Bloomberg’s Global Legal Advisers league tables:
- sixth in proceeds and 12th in deal count for global bonds issuer advisers;
- sixth in proceeds and 17th in deal count for U.S. investment grade corporate bonds issuer/borrower advisers; and
- seventh in proceeds and 19th in deal count for U.S. corporate bonds issuer/borrower advisers.
The firm’s notable transactions include advising Dominion Energy in a $1.2 billion fixed-income offering, which included $600 million of 3.75% senior unsecured notes and $600 million of 4.625% senior unsecured notes. McGuireWoods represented Direct Digital Holdings Inc., an end-to-end full-service digital advertising platform, in closing its initial public offering of Class A common stock. And the firm advised The Benchmark Company, as lead bookrunning manager, in connection with an initial public offering of ordinary shares by FGI Industries Ltd., a global supplier of kitchen and bath products.
