McGuireWoods solidified its standing as one of the world’s pre-eminent banking and finance law firms in 2024, again ranked among the top firms for advising lenders in debt finance transactions, according to league tables published by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Bloomberg and Debtwire.
McGuireWoods advised lenders on 153 global deals valued at $136 billion to rank ninth in deal count and proceeds in LSEG’s authoritative league tables. The firm also ranked ninth in deal count and proceeds for representing lenders in U.S. syndicated loans, with 124 deals valued at $104 billion.
For 14 consecutive years, McGuireWoods has ranked among the top 10 U.S. law firms for deal count and dollar value in lending league tables published by LSEG and its predecessors, Refinitiv and Thomson Reuters.
McGuireWoods also earned high ratings in Bloomberg’s Global Legal Adviser League Tables and Debtwire’s rankings for U.S. loans and North America leveraged loans.
In Bloomberg’s report, the firm achieved the following rankings:
- sixth in deal count and ninth in proceeds for U.S. syndicated loans;
- seventh in deal count and 10th in proceeds for U.S. leveraged loans; and
- ninth in deal count and 11th in dollar value for representing lenders in loans worldwide.
McGuireWoods also had a strong showing in Debtwire’s North America rankings for advising lead banks in lending transactions, based on total deal value:
- seventh for M&A leveraged loans;
- eighth for buyout leveraged loans; and
- ninth for all leveraged loans.
