July 15, 2025

McGuireWoods partner Garen Marshall has been selected for inclusion in “The 2025 Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation,” which honors emerging leaders shaping the future of the legal profession. Selections were based on nominations, independent research and peer recommendations.

Based in Charlotte and New York, Marshall is a partner in the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department. He advises financial institutions, private equity firms and healthcare clients on government and regulatory investigations, internal reviews, and compliance and risk mitigation efforts. His practice includes emerging risks involving artificial intelligence and fintech. He is a frequent author and speaker on government enforcement, AI governance and corporate compliance, and serves on McGuireWoods’ Technology Committee.

“I’m grateful for this recognition and proud of the work we do at McGuireWoods to help clients stay ahead of regulatory risk and navigate complex investigations with steady, strategic counsel,” Marshall said.

Before joining McGuireWoods, Marshall — a decorated U.S. Navy veteran — was a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. He served in the office’s National Security and Cybercrime Unit and Organized Crime and Gangs Unit.
