Alex focuses her practice on defending clients in credit card, banking, and bankruptcy matters involving violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Truth in Lending Act, and state law consumer protection statutes in federal and state courts across the country. In addition to these statutes, she represents large financial institutions and business clients in disputes involving allegations of fraud, breach of contract, and bankruptcy discharge injunction and stay violations. She has successfully defended these claims from inception through trial and has substantial experience advising clients on compliance with these laws.
Alex maintains an active role in her community through her involvement in pro bono work, community service, and bar organizations.
While earning her law degree from the University of Richmond, Alex served as the lead articles editor of the University of Richmond Law Review. She received the Best Brief Award in the Carrico Moot Court Competition and was inducted as a member of the McNeill Honors Law Society. She also worked as a legal intern to the Honorable Catherine C. Hammond and a legal intern with the Legal Aid Justice Center.
