Laura A. Meis Associate

Laura practices in the areas of private wealth services and trusts and estates.

She focuses her practice on the representation of high-net worth individuals and closely held businesses with respect to a variety of tax, estate planning, trust and estate administration, and general business matters. Laura also advises fiduciaries regarding the administration of complex estates and trusts.

Prior to arriving at McGuireWoods LLP, Laura worked as an associate in a New York law firm where her practice focused on defending financial firms and executives in regulatory investigations, internal investigations and civil litigation before state and federal court.

Laura is licensed to practice in New York and Virginia. She holds an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law and a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School. During law school, Laura served as a legal extern for the then Chief Judge Julie E. Carnes of the Northern District of Georgia. She received a B.A. in history and anthropology from the University of Virginia.
