Top Corporate Tax Lawyer Sabrina Conyers Joins McGuireWoods in Charlotte

Sabrina Conyers, a nationally recognized corporate tax lawyer with more than 17 years of experience advising clients on domestic and international tax matters, has joined McGuireWoods’ Tax & Employee Benefits Department as a partner in the firm’s Charlotte office.

Conyers’ experience includes serving as lead tax counsel, negotiator and facilitator for transactions valued at over $2 billion. She represents corporations, investment banks, private equity funds and private companies, including partnerships, S corporations and real estate developers.

Conyers assists clients in structuring, negotiating and documenting the tax consequences of partnerships and joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and REIT transactions, domestic and cross-border financings and other corporate combinations and reorganizations. She advises on deals involving limited partnerships, limited liability companies, joint ventures and other strategic alliances.

Conyers joins McGuireWoods from the Charlotte office of Nelson Mullins, where she was a partner in the tax and benefits practice. She previously was a senior manager at a Big Four accounting firm.

Among her many honors, Conyers was honored as a “Dealmaker of the Year” by The American Lawyer in 2021 for her role creating a first-of-its-kind community investment fund for Black and Latinx business owners on behalf of Invest Newark in partnership with New Jersey Community Capital. She also was named a 2021 “Law360 MVP” for her work in tax, and she was selected for inclusion on Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Dealmakers in America” list.
