James concentrates his practice on structuring, negotiating and documenting syndicated credit facilities.

He has experience in representing financial institutions in complex syndicated and bilateral credit financings, including acquisition financings, cross-border financings, first lien and second lien loan transactions and asset based transactions. He has served as counsel to the administrative agent, lead arranger and lenders in syndicated and bilateral credit facilities for companies in the healthcare, life sciences, retail, manufacturing, telecommunications, security alarm, defense, restaurant and other sectors.

James is chair of the McGuireWoods National Recruiting Committee and former chair of the Charlotte Office’s Recruiting Committee.
