He regularly partners with clients to develop plans for clean-up and redevelopment of contaminated properties, and assists clients with environmental considerations in transactional matters.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Matt practiced environmental litigation at a regional law firm in Alabama, where he represented companies in a variety of complex environmental litigation matters. While attending law school, Matt served as a law clerk for the Office of General Counsel for the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment and a summer honors law clerk for the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance under the Environmental Protection Agency.
Prior to attending law school, Matt worked as an environmental consultant for a national environmental consulting firm where he performed site evaluation and remediation across the mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
