Abdul advises private investment funds and institutional clients in connection with domestic and cross-border business transactions.

Abdul is a member of the Private Investment Funds Group and counsels emerging managers, independent sponsors, and investors in all aspects of the formation, structuring, capital raising, regulation and management of private funds across multiple investment strategies and industries.

Abdul has experience in structuring complex private equity, private debt, and venture capital funds over the course of his career. As part of his practice, Abdul provides strategic counsel in the areas of ESG and impact investing, drawing from his experience in operationalizing several impact-focused private funds across multiple jurisdictions.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Abdul spent over a decade in fund formation and investment roles across several investment management platforms, including DWS Group (formerly Deutsche Asset Management) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund. He began his career in private practice at a leading New York law firm and brings this comprehensive perspective to serve the firm’s clients and partners.
