The deal is one of the largest M&A transactions announced in 2026 and the largest power acquisition in U.S. history.
The all-stock combination will create one of the largest regulated electric utility businesses in the U.S. and one of the world’s largest energy infrastructure companies, with an approximate market capitalization of $249 billion and an enterprise value of $420 billion. The combined company will serve approximately 10 million utility customers across Florida, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
