Luis advises financial institutions on the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of secured and unsecured syndicated, club, and bilateral credit facilities. His experience spans acquisition financings, cross-border and multicurrency facilities, and first lien/second lien structures.
He regularly represents administrative agents, lead arrangers, and lenders in complex financing transactions involving both strategic and private equity-sponsored borrowers. In addition, Luis counsels corporations and financial sponsors in connection with debt financings across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, technology, healthcare, beverage, and restaurants.
Before practicing law, Luis conducted cancer research while pursuing a master’s degree in biotechnology and worked in the technology transfer office at Moffitt Cancer Center. He also gained experience as an investment banking summer associate during his MBA studies, giving him a unique perspective on the intersection of science, business, and finance.
Luis is actively involved in the firm’s recruiting efforts as a member of the Charlotte recruiting committee.

- Represented the lead arranger and administrative agent in a $4.5 billion unsecured credit facility to a global investment company with a lender group of over 35 institutions.
- Advised financial institutions on senior secured credit facilities in the manufacturing and industrial services sectors.
- Represented a financial sponsor in a financing to acquire and consolidate multiple franchise restaurant operations.
