Law360, Texas Lawyer, The Texas Lawbook, Bloomberg Law, International Financial Law Review, Project Finance International, Global Legal Insights, Corporate Counsel Business Journal and Pulse 2.0 were among the legal and business news outlets that covered the arrival of debt finance partner Michelle Williamson in the firm’s Houston office.
Williamson represents sponsors, private and public borrowers, financial institutions and other investors in a variety of financing transactions, with a focus on energy and infrastructure. Her practice covers acquisition financings, investment-grade lending, cash flow-based lending, asset-based lending (including reserve-based lending and securitizations for oil and gas transactions), mezzanine financings, private credit, and subordinated debt financings.
Williamson told Law360 she was drawn to McGuireWoods by the firm’s culture and the opportunity to grow its debt finance capabilities in the Houston market.
“I’m so excited about growing something [at a firm] with such a collaborative and collegial culture,” she said in Law360’s July 22, 2026, story. “My goal is to take the national culture of McGuireWoods and build out a debt finance practice here.”
