McGuireWoods Earns National Ranking for Real Estate Practice in Chambers UK 2027 Guide

Callum Hassall, Daniel L. Peyton, Francesca Titus and Hannah Irish Recognized as Top Lawyers

McGuireWoods earned a nationwide ranking for its commercial real estate capabilities, and London partners Callum Hassall, Daniel L. Peyton and Francesca Titus earned individual recognition in Chambers UK 2027, the authoritative guide to top lawyers and law firms in the United Kingdom. Hannah Irish was also recognized as a Star Associate.

Chambers UK awarded the firm a nationwide ranking for representing real estate clients in matters valued at £50-£150 million. McGuireWoods’ London real estate team advises a range of market participants, including corporate occupiers, domestic and international investors, developers, landlords and tenants, and lenders. The team, which includes Hassall, Irish and associate Rend Beresford, serves clients across the commercial real estate spectrum. Clients interviewed by Chambers researchers lauded the team for its approachability, commercial mindset and ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice.

“McGuireWoods’ real estate team distinguishes itself through a combination of technical proficiency, commercial awareness and responsiveness, which together make them particularly effective in a transactional, asset management-driven environment,” one client told Chambers. “A key strength is their ability to provide advice that is not only legally robust but also commercially attuned. Finally, their consistency of service and depth across the team stand out.”

Hassall was recognized for representing clients in commercial real estate transactions across property types, including retirement living and care homes; industrial, manufacturing and logistics facilities; hotels; offices; and large-scale mixed-use development projects.

“He’s a fantastic lawyer; incredibly diligent, commercially aware and has a great depth of knowledge well beyond just real estate law,” a client said. “He is a pleasure to work with, and I value his contributions to our business greatly.”

Irish was named a Star Associate, a distinction Chambers UK reserves for associates who stand out among their peers. She advises clients on high-value lettings in the life sciences, retail and offices sectors and on the sales and purchases of industrial, retail properties and student accommodation developments.

“Her level of diligence is unparalleled, and she has a fantastic level of knowledge across many areas of real estate,” a client said of Irish.

Peyton, managing partner of the firm’s London office, was ranked for the 11th time by Chambers UK for representing employers. He advises clients in contentious employment matters, including whistleblowing, discrimination, restraint of trade and confidential information disputes, and board-level terminations.

“Dan is highly responsive and pragmatic, and he consistently delivers clear, actionable advice,” a client said.

Chambers UK recognized Titus in the Corporate Crime & Investigations category. She represents companies and individuals in high-value, multijurisdictional white collar crime litigation. She advises business leaders in investigations and prosecutions conducted by the UK Serious Fraud Office, His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, the Financial Conduct Authority, the National Crime Agency and the Crown Prosecution Service.

“Francesca is just fantastic,” a client said. “She is extremely experienced, very responsive, and she thinks and foresees several steps ahead.”

In addition to the Chambers UK rankings, McGuireWoods was recognized as a leading law firm in five practice areas in the 2027 edition of the Legal 500 UK guide.
